In 2012, the Hong Kong Museum of Art organized "A Lofty Retreat from the Red Dust: The Secret Garden of Emperor Qianlong" exhibition. Design And Cultural Studies Workshop had the pleasure to be an educational partner of the exhibition, mainly responsible for large murals, animations, multi-media interactive games, QR-code and webpage design.

This exhibition showcased precious antiques, expert analysis and museum displays. And through it, the education programme had the opportunity to convey our message in more tangible manner, extending our territory from schools to the museum, and moving our medium from publications to actual displays. Our subject also went beyond the Forbidden City to the garden of Emperor Qianlong. Together we learned about the essence and great qualities about nature.

Through QR-code brochure and this webpage for extended learning, we hope to bring this exhibition to more different places. Even though the exhibition is over, young people and public could still see the displays by watching the animation.
