About the organisers

Founded in 2001, the Design and Cultural Studies Workshop is dedicated to researching, analysing, interpreting and promoting arts and design in both traditional and modern contexts. The Workshop, under the stewardship of Chiu Kwong-chiu, undertakes a series of multi-disciplinary studies on Chinese culture alongside a wide range of activities, seminars and publishing projects.

By leveraging the support of the Palace Museum, the Workshop and The Robert H.N. Ho Family Foundation teamed up to curate and implement the ‘We All Live in the Forbidden City’ Education Programme and its related thematic exhibition and publications in 2010. The Design and Cultural Studies Workshop Limited was registered as a charity in Hong Kong in the same year.
